Artist Statement Current affairs are the top stories of happenings across the world. However, people often forget about these important news of the past if they are not recorded.
This coursework, titled 2010, focused on the news that happened in that year. As 2010 has just passed, the news will be more familiar to people.
The top headlines of each month in 2010 is chosen and portrayed in the form of a painting. A reason for this is that “a picture paints a thousand words.” People tend to remember pictures, drawings and photographs more easily.
This coursework will also provide an easier medium for pre teens and teenagers to understand and remember these news. In additionally, it may spark people’s interest in current affairs.
